Monochromatic Color Schemes

The energy of a room decorated in a monochromatic color scheme is peaceful due to the lack of contrast. All hues (tints, tones, and shades) of a single color are used to create this decorating style.

Monochromatic color schemes are derived from a single base hue, and extended using it’s shades, tones and tints. In addition, the one color is often paired with white, black or another neutral.

The look conveys a sense of serenity to a small space in the city or a suburban home. It lends itself to variety without sacrificing harmony.
